Our Cadia operation in INTEGRATED PLANNING is now recruiting for the position of SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER. Operations near and far Cadia is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Who we're looking for Reporting to the Superintendent – Geotechnical Operations, The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will provide strong geotechnical support and services to the Surface Operations and other Technical Services at Cadia. The Senior will maintain a minimum safe standard for all personnel, infrastructure and equipment on site as well as Identify and implement business improvement through problem solving, innovation and technology. In addition, you will ensure geotechnical systems and procedures are in implemented, employed and maintained and mitigate geotechnical hazards to the site. Other responsibilities include: Accountable for monitoring, inspections and reporting on adverse rock mass with regards to Tailings Storage Facility, Surface Mining Stockpiles & Waste dumps Maintenance & development of surface Monitoring systems Major hazard reporting and regular communication of surface related geotechnical risks Design and Reconciliation of surface structures & tailings dam construction You ideally have a background in or exposure to mining and/or civil industries and are committed to verifying and improving safety. You will also possess the following: Tertiary qualification in Geotechnical, Civil or Mining Engineering Surface experience in Mining or Civil industries Knowledge around surface Geotechnical monitoring Tailings dam safety management – Highly regarded.
