About the Role With an increasing workload, GBG is looking for a senior geophysicist who has commercial experience in near surface geophysics. Specifically, acquisition and processing experience in Electrical methods such as EM/TEM and resistivity for environmental and geotechnical projects. More rounded experience in multiple methods over and above those specific methods stated would be viewed favourably. This is a key role in GBG and will provide the backbone of the geophysics data acquisition and processing team. With the retirement of some senior staff, we are looking for a person to provide hands-on management and mentoring of our teams. The role will be quite diverse with a requirement to liaise with clients, write and review technical proposals (with experience of writing technical proposals for $100k Value), and write and review technical reports. Quality control will also be a key part of the role, to ensure continuity and accuracy of the product we produce and information we supply. There will be a mix of predominantly office work with some fieldwork where required. About You We would expect prospective candidates to already have considerable knowledge in both field acquisition, office processing, interpretation, and reporting of shallow geophysical data sets specifically electrical methods from either geotechnical or environmental investigations. Preferably 6 to 8 years' experience within the industry. We would prefer a candidate who is already based in or around Sydney but are prepared to relocate a candidate if they match what we want. This position is offering a base salary in the range of $100 to $110k with various bonus packages based on sales, site work and overall company profitability that would be discussed with the candidate at interview. Mandatory A degree or higher in Geoscience, Earth sciences or a relevant field Specific experience in electrical geophysical methods for shallow geophysical investigations. 6 to 8 years' experience in undertaking and/or managing shallow geophysical investigations including processing, interpretation and reporting. Willing to move to Sydney Salary will be negotiable but based on experience and ability of the candidate. GBG has flexible work arrangements with staff able to work from home as required and flexible working hours with the minimum being 7.5hrs per day.
