The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the core financial accounting functions to drive efficiencies and meet/improve stakeholder relationships and outcomes.
Please note, this is a full time, 12 month contract with flexible working options on offer.
Your part in our UnitingCare team
Develop, document, maintain and deliver the financial reporting month end close process per agreed timetable.
Develop, document and maintain the chart of account cost centre and general ledger account structures within the financial management information systems.
Provide general ledger account reconciliation and verification activities.
Develop, document and maintain the systems and processes to ensure the appropriate accounting and reporting for monthly income and expenses.
Prepare monthly BAS and annual FBT returns.
Complete annual WorkCover renewal returns.
Liaise with the Internal Audit Team to ensure that financial processes are within agreed framework.
Unlock efficiencies and reduce complexity to deliver more timely, accurate and transparent financial information and services.
Re-engineer finance processes to optimize, standardize (system agnostic) and improve work flows, with a focus on automation.
What makes a difference for us?
Tertiary qualification in accounting, business or other relevant discipline.
CA/CPA.
Previous experience of working within the Not-For-Profit, Health or Community Services sector (desirable).
Prior experience with acquittals/government grants, or the ability to read and understand key extracts of a contract.
Advanced technology skills including advanced MS Excel capabilities.
