Permanent - Full Time About the role Reporting to the Director Family Law, the Senior Family Law Consultant/In house Counsel will have the conduct of complex family law matters, act as Counsel and will have a role in the development of the legal skills of Legal Aid WA lawyers practicing family law. The successful applicant will also contribute towards the development of family law policy.
Success in this senior role requires a strong capacity to provide high level professional advice and representation, including advocacy at interim hearings and trial, on complex family law matters, particularly as Counsel for the Independent Children's Lawyer. You will also possess a proven ability and willingness to assist in the development, supervision and mentoring of colleagues, and ability to work with a high level of professional autonomy. A qualification as an Independent Children's Lawyer is essential for appointment.
About you You will have significant family law litigation experience including trial work, with a passion for quality advocacy. An ability and track record to identify early opportunities to resolve matters will be highly regarded. Your communication skills will be outstanding and your knowledge of the law, extensive. A desire to be a leader, mentor and part of a professional team will be essential.
