Senior Mining Engineer (Underground) The Position:
Globe 24-7 is looking for a Senior Mining Engineer with extensive underground experience to join our Client's team on an 8/6 roster. The ideal candidate will offer technical advice, strategic planning, and comprehensive support to the underground mining operations, whilst ensuring efficient and safe execution of all mining activities.
Key Responsibilities: Design optimal layouts for underground development and stopes, devise efficient mining methods, determine equipment needs, and evaluate recovery costs. Prepare underground mine development and production schedules Overseeing the preparation and optimization of drill and blast plans. Planning and overseeing the dewatering system in the mine. Monitoring day-to-day mining operations to ensure compliance with agreed plans and quality control standards. Provide technical input into the underground mining process. Manage mining activities to ensure production meets short and long-term planning targets. Provide leadership to mining engineers and other technical staff in their day-to-day activities. Undertake project work and mine engineering activities as required. Plan, quote, and implement capital expenditure as required. Coordinate mining engineering activities with production teams, surveyors, geologists, drill and blast, and contractor teams. Ensure all activities adhere to the highest safety standards and comply with company policies and workplace safety and environmental regulations. Conduct pre-start meetings as required. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Relevant qualification in Mining Engineering or related. Minimum 5 years' experience in mining operations. Experience using mine planning and scheduling softwares, such as Deswik is highly regarded. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations. First Class Mine Manager's Certificate (preferred but not essential).
