They are looking for experienced sustainable building consultants to lead their team and help them lift the bar of best practice sustainability in the building industry.
The Role   The ESD Consultant supports project leaders and manages the design and documentation of Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) services.
Duties include liaising with clients, consultants and engineering colleagues to design and deliver documentation of ESD for projects, attending site and design meetings, and building and maintaining good relationships with design team members and suppliers.
The Responsibilities Oversee and deliver design and documentation for various ESD projects, meeting varied requirements per project.
Carry out sustainable design assessments, calculations and studies in areas including energy efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions, water efficiency, indoor environment quality, materials and stormwater pollution.
Prepare advice and propose solutions to sustainable design matters, to reduce the environmental impact of development projects.
Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems.
Attend and manage project/client/site meetings as required.
Allocate and monitor workloads of yourself and others, meeting deadlines and ensuring high-quality documentation deliverables.
Liaise with authorities and suppliers.
Multi-disciplinary collaboration with other building design professionals.
Interpret relevant Australian standards and the Building Codes of Australia, ensuring your knowledge of these is comprehensively maintained.
Prepare sustainable design reports and documentation.
The Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or equivalent.
Experience in design and documentation within various sectors of the construction industry.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite, Bluebeam and other ESD-specific software packages.
Knowledge of building codes and relevant standards.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise positively with key stakeholders.
Excellent time management, leadership and teamwork skills.
Creativity and analytical skills.
Strong client focus and the ability to work within or lead a project team.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills (both internal and external).
