Job Description Our R&I team have an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Mackay office.
This role will be focused on enhancing our local electrical engineering capabilities, capacity and client base.
You will utilize your strong communication and technical skills to up-skill the current team and work on a range of projects.
What will a day in this role look like: Manage electrical components of projects across all phases of the project lifecycle including: feasibility studies, detailed design, procurement assistance, site construction and commissioning.
Collaborate with skilled engineers across a range of diverse projects within resources / industrial, transport infrastructure, water and buildings.
Provide technical advice on local sustaining capital projects and studies whilst contributing to workshare projects with larger metropolitan offices on 'city changing' projects.
Mentor, develop and guide junior engineers whilst playing an active part in growing your team in size and capability.

What are we looking for from you? Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree with, ideally, 5+ years proven engineering / design experience within mining, local government or heavy industry sectors.
Exposure to the design and specification of industrial systems such as HV/LV distribution, controls and communications, safety systems and motor controls.
Knowledge in the use of popular design packages such as Power CAD, Power Tools and Auto CAD.
Proficient in producing engineering documentation such as technical specifications, datasheets, reports and scope of works.
Possess current knowledge of relevant industry standards and the application of compliant designs.
Have (or working towards) CPEng and/or RPEQ.
