Senior Engineer – CONTROLS and SCADAAs Entura is currently growing our teams to support our exciting pipeline of projects, we are seeking a Senior Engineer – CONTROLS and SCADA to be part of our Grid & Power Group. You will play a core role in a close-knit team, taking the lead in providing functional specifications, design, testing and commissioning services in automation and SCADA infrastructure environments including hydro power-stations, substations, and hybrid energy schemes.

What you will bring:You have true team player spirit, with the ability to be equally adept across a number of different environments, and to supervise electrical design teams when necessary. 5 or more years' experience in Controls (automation) and SCADA, ideally applied to delivering complete end-to-end solutions without needing to obtain support from a third party. Extensive experience and demonstrated knowledge of PLC control system hardware and software from major vendors such as Allen Bradley, Schneider Electric and Siemens Strong experience in lead design and commissioning roles for complex upgrades of existing plant, preferably hydroelectric machines.
Electrical control hardware design and cabling solutions for control panel manufacture and remote support during site installation and testingDesign and review/approve PLC IO lists, panel layouts, control equipment schedules, cable schedules, termination schedules and instrumentation specificationsHardware and software development from concept design through to construction support and commissioningA high level of competency with integration design using RTUs, PLCs, telemetry and other related devices, which are essential in generator and distribution power schemesA degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalentAwareness of Australian engineering codes of practices, standards, and guidelinesThe role is based in our Hobart office with flexible working arrangements available. Given the diversity of our clients and projects, there will be local travel, and possibly national and international requirements.
