The opportunityThis role will be responsible for implementing and driving Data Governance initiatives across UniSuper, including leading Data catalogue uplifts, Data Literacy engagement, education, and supporting the data management journey at UniSuper.
The role will be seen as a Senior practitioner and a representative of the Data Office in UniSuper projects, Risk & Compliance, and Technology forums as required, with a special focus on the Investment business unit.This role will provide clarity to the roles and functions of the Data Governance team and the Data Stewardship model via strong policies, procedures, and standards.Ensure Data Governance policies, procedures, and standards are in place to support the Data Governance Framework and are operationalized across the organization.Ensure UniSuper has the tools and processes in place to allow the business to be compliant with data obligations.Support the Data Owners and Data Stewards on their Data Governance journey while providing necessary assistance to help adoption of Data Catalogue and associated processes.Implement Data Governance processes, frameworks, policies, and standards across the business with a special focus on Investment processes and data domains.Contribute to internal and external audits as needed.Work with the business designing and iterating processes; streamlining them to reduce effort, uplift compliance, and deliver business value.About youExperience in at least 2 of the Data Management Areas (Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Risk, Data Modelling, Reporting).Hands-on experience in developing and managing Data Catalogues processes and Tools.Strong analysis experience on systems and processes in Super Industry or Fund Management.Knowledge of the regulatory framework under which superannuation funds operate (e.g., CPS230, CPG235, CPS234, NIST, FAR, BFID, Australian Privacy Act, GDPR - good to have).Strong knowledge in DAMA-DAMBOK or other Governance Control frameworks.Experienced in working with SQL and Python.Experienced in analysis of data across different systems and can analyze data models.Experienced in data governance issue resolution.Experienced with Alation or other data cataloguing solution.Domain Knowledge on Investments processes and tools will be essential though not mandatory.What UniSuper offersWe take a long-term outlook and will invest in our employees' development and training with a personal development plan and yearly funding to support your career goals, as well as these amazing benefits:
