This is a pool recruitment process (Ref 00997). This pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities. This position is offered as a twelve (12) month contract/secondment opportunity with the possibility of extension/permanency. POSITION OBJECTIVE This role undertakes and leads the delivery of performance measurement, evaluation and statistical tasks to meet corporate and operational reporting requirements. The position undertakes and leads complex analytical and data-centric projects to produce information products and tools that ensure the Western Australian (WA) Police Force remains a leader in delivering data driven insights in a policing environment. The role requires a high level of critical thinking, communication, analytical and technical skills. Key Requirements: Excellent critical thinking, analytical and conceptual skills Highly developed communication and negotiation skills Delivery focused with an ability to self-manage your workload Ability to work well in a team and build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels Experience in using data visualisation tools, such as Power BI, to create reports or be able to quickly learn to become competent in building information products Be knowledgeable of, or quickly able to acquire knowledge of, performance framework design principles to link operations to strategic objectives and drive intended outcomes. SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITE It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance. Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description). Whilst there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to become an Australian Citizen prior to appointment. Applicants are not required to address the work related requirements at this stage of the selection process. Applicants are required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form. It is important to note that your CV should be tailored to clearly outline that you possess transferrable skills and experience relevant to the advertised role.  Your ability to demonstrate this will be a key factor in determining whether you are competitive. The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant's ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist. OTHER CONDITIONS In addition to the above mentioned vacancy, a POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise within the metropolitan area. This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment. Applicants who are assessed as 'suitable' at the completion of this process, will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available. Once an applicant from the POOL accepts a permanent position via this selection process, that applicant will be removed from the POOL. Applicants who accept a temporary vacancy will remain in the POOL and will continue to be considered for permanent opportunities as they arise. Where an applicant in the POOL declines an opportunity (either permanent or temporary), that applicant may forfeit their right to be considered before other suitable applicants who were identified to be less competitive. Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
