Bring yours to Block.The RoleWe are looking for a Senior Corporate Security Engineer who will support Block's foundational teams (People, Finance, Legal, IT). To be successful, we need someone who can quickly digest new concepts, business requirements, and associated risks and can collaborate with their partner teams and with the security team to identify what risks we should accept, which we should mitigate, how, and why. This means broad security knowledge, an ability to gain technical depth quickly when necessary, and the soft skills (collaboration, ability to communicate security risks to non-engineers) and leadership required to effectively collaborate across many teams at once.You WillWork directly with foundational teams to identify and manage risk across Block's corporate technology platformsOperate and evolve our workforce identity and security toolingAssist in the development of security policies, requirements, and guidelines to address corporate riskProvide architecture guidance to influence secure designs and roadmaps for effective risk managementBuild, develop and maintain new security solutions to protect BlockYou HaveExperience with security engineering across a broad range of security domain areas including identity and access management, network security, endpoint security and PKIProficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Bash, Powershell, Golang, Java etc)Experience deploying infrastructure as code using languages such as Terraform and CI/CD pipelinesStrong collaboration and interpersonal skillsExperience mentoring or leading a team of engineers will be highly valuedIdeally You HaveExperience working in a remote and distributed team environmentCuriosity and interest in learning new technologiesPrevious experience with enterprise SaaS tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Workday, Salesforce etc)We're working to build a more inclusive economy where our customers have equal access to opportunity, and we strive to live by these same values in building our workplace.
