Base salary $140,913 – 148,684 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Senior Corporate Governance Specialist is responsible for providing high level governance and administrative services to the University of Sydney Senate and relevant Standing Committees and Working Groups of this body.
The incumbent is accountable for supporting the overall successful operation of the governance body, which includes providing strategic support and advice to Senior Executives, providing operational and project management, policy advice and administrative support to the Deputy Chief Governance Officer.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
Provide strategic guidance and expert governance advice to the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, and University Executive to enable best practice governance models, committee support, and delivery of strategic objectives within the University Strategic Plan.

Provide advice and guidance to the Deputy Chief Governance Officer on key sector and University policy matters and ensure the Chief Governance Officer is briefed and prepared with all information, materials, and resources for successful engagement with internal and external stakeholders and committees.

Manage and prepare the agenda for meetings of Senate and its Standing Committees and Working Groups to ensure the orderly and timely dispatch of business to be conducted at those meetings.

Develop and implement communication strategies and plans designed to meet the key information requirements and needs of internal and external stakeholders to the University.

Manage governance processes including committee membership, reporting, and communications.

Undertake research of issues and provide high level policy advice and briefing materials.

About you
Extensive experience in servicing senior committees.

Professional experience with analysing reports and policy development.

Demonstrated ability to research, interpret, draft, implement and provide advice on complex legislation and procedures.

Proven record of organisational decision-making ability, together with strong analytical skills.

Excellent time and workload management skills.

High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and liaise with staff at all levels.
