We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to join our company to assist our Perth team on a recently awarded project for one of our major mining clients.
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, this is a contract position that will initially be based in our Perth office and then will be site based on a 2:1 FIFO roster in the Pilbara region.
Responsibilities will include: Contract Management: Head Contract Management: Ensure the Project is managed in compliance with terms and conditions of the Contract and align with the company's objectives. Contractual Compliance: Ensure all parties adhere to the contract terms, including milestones, deliverables, and deadlines. Monitor compliance with insurance, warranties, and performance bonds. Claims Management: Variation Management: Ensure the project identifies, assesses, and manages variations, ensuring proper documentation and justification. Delay and Disruption Claims: Prepare and manage delay claims and escalate contentious claims that require senior management support and intervention. Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks in contracts and work with the project team to mitigate them, ensuring that any liabilities or exposures are minimized. Procurement and Subcontract Management: Subcontractor Management: Oversee the procurement of subcontractors, ensuring relevant Head Contract flow downs are included, and other terms and conditions are clear and enforced. Supplier Contracts: Manage supplier agreements (onshore and offshore) and monitor performance, delivery schedules, and compliance with contract terms. Cost Control: Work closely with the project manager to ensure that costs are controlled, forecasted, and align with project budgets. Progress Claims: Review progress claims to the client. Ensure timely payment from the client and manage payments to subcontractors and suppliers. Forecasting: Review financial forecasting and budgeting, including tracking actual project costs against budgeted costs. Project Documentation and Reporting: Record Keeping: Ensure the project maintains comprehensive records of all contracts, communications, and transactions related to the project. Reporting: Ensure regular reports on the status of contracts, including risks, claims, and financials to senior management in the Perth Office. Stakeholder Management: Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between the contractor and the client regarding contractual issues. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with project teams, including project managers, engineers, and site personnel, to ensure smooth project delivery and contract management. Dispute Management: Manage and resolve any disputes or conflicts related to contractual obligations. Escalation: Ensure Senior Management are updated on disputes and elevate contentious items escalating in a timely manner. Contract Closeout: Final Account Settlement: Ensure the proper closeout of all contracts, including the resolution of any outstanding claims, final payments, and release of retention sums. Lessons Learned: Participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and best practices for the Tendering and Estimating teams for future projects. Position requirements: Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Law or similar field. 10+ years' experience in a commercial role supporting construction projects, ideally at least 3+ years of managing a project commercial function. Knowledge of contract, procurement, cost and change management functions. Experience in processing orders, managing finances, contract administration and works contracts, Knowledge of insurance matters and contract negotiations. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word. Experience with Pronto or similar ERP, desirable. What's on offer: Competitive remuneration package.
