Senior Communications Officer, Queensland Human Rights Commission

The Senior Communications Officer will work closely with teams across the Commission to identify key issues and media opportunities, as well as contribute broadly to the work of the communications team.
They will act as a key advisor to the Commissioner and Executive Management Committee on media and reputational issues and play an important role in crisis management.As the Senior Communications Officer you will:

Provide advice and direction on appropriate communication models, approaches, plans and tools including responses to media publications and enquiries and issue management.Work with Director, Engagement and Communications to develop and implement media strategies and campaigns.Develop pro-active media opportunities, respond to media enquiries, write media releases and statements.Coordinate media monitoring and reporting.Assist in the development, publication and distribution of communication materials including newsletters, brochures, fact sheets, social media and web content, posters, banners, presentations, videos, feature articles, and media releases.Prepare reports, briefs and other correspondence for internal and external audiences.Assist with drafting and proofing speech notes and presentations, in consultation with relevant stakeholders.Develop and foster productive relationships, networks and partnerships to facilitate the Commission's strategic and operational objectives.Support delivery of other projects across the Communications team, as required.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Further information
