The Department's Strategic Communications Branch has 1 permanent opportunity and 1 12-month fixed-term temporary opportunity located in Brisbane CBD with flexible full-time hours. You'll play a senior role within a team of communications professionals, orchestrating the development and implementation of strategic communications initiatives and strategies across a range of topics and programs.Job detailsPosition status: Permanent, TemporaryPosition type: Flexible full-timeOccupational group: Marketing, PR & CommunicationClassification: AO6Workplace Location: Brisbane CBDJob ad reference: QLD/SPRD592718Closing date: 09-Oct-2024Fortnightly salary: $4569.20 - $4888.10Job duration: Permanent & Fixed-Term Temporary (12 Months)Senior Communication Officers contribute to the delivery of communications projects and initiatives, including developing insight-based, audience-focused internal and external communication strategies and campaigns. In this role, you will provide specialist communications support, services and advice for clients across the department.Your responsibilities will include:Fostering robust relationships with clients from across Queensland Health, Hospital and Health Services (HHSs), other Queensland Government agencies and key stakeholders within the health sector. Your role will require extensive liaison and coordination, demonstrating your well-developed communication and negotiation skills.Providing high-level, strategic advice to clients regarding communication strategies and delivery mechanisms, and any complex or specific issues that could potentially impact the project.Developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic communication strategies that align with the priorities of Queensland Health. Your responsibilities will require autonomy and significant control over these projects, all within the broader strategic constraints defined by senior management.In regards to the temporary, 12-month position, the above responsibilities will be applied specifically to supporting the implementation of Queensland Health's Women and Girls' Health Strategy 2032.The successful personYou will have demonstrated:Experience in managing and delivering substantial or complex communication projects within an agreed budget and timeframes, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated through the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders.Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to plan, manage and deliver several competing priorities.Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in a communication and/or project management context.Experience in or knowledge of healthcare is highly desirable but not essential.About usThe Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland.
