The OpportunityIn your role as a Senior Child Protection Worker Community or Senior Community Child Protection Worker you will use your empathetic and caring nature to make a difference to individuals, children and families in the Community and to children in care. You will utilise your knowledge, skills and experience in providing assessment and interventions with children and families to increase safety and wellbeing . You will also demonstrate your knowledge of issues in the protection and care of children and young people and be motivated to drive positive outcomes
In this role, you will work in the areas of family support, child protection, family domestic violence, and children in care, with a significant focus on Aboriginal children and families. This will require you to be able to undertake responses in accordance with the legislative requirements of the Children and Community Services Act 2004. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders and provide community education and information to raise awareness of child safety issues. Theability and preparedness to work within Aboriginal communities in developing culturally appropriate and effective responses to child safety concerns will be required.

There is currently 1 position based in Kalumburu available for immediate filling and 1 position in the Dampier Peninsula available for filling in February 2025.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term and permanent)in the Kimberley remote communities that arise within the next 12 months.
