About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Building Surveyor to join our Hobart team. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent communication skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport our existing client base through sound technical knowledge and professionalism.Develop in your own way, your own client base within the organisation and with the support of your peers.Assist develop and support the ongoing growth of the Hobart Office.Carry out regulatory assessments on all types of commercial projects as required, and some residential projects.Carry out early phase compliance assessments and reporting through concept/schematic/design development.Assess project documentation against the deemed-to-satisfy and performance requirements of the Building Code of Australia, Act and Regs.Complete building permit assessments with the support of assistant building surveyors.Facilitate the preparation of building permits, occupancy permits, certificates and documentation.Manage multiple projects from beginning to end delegating responsibilities as required.Leading by example and assisting the development of staff, through growth, education and support.Liaise with relevant stakeholders and provide technical assistance to our clients.Identify improvements, efficiencies and implement action plans in collaboration with other staff members to promote the business.Assist other staff members with building surveying and business development matters.Attend site inspections and design meetings as required.RequirementsRegistration as Building Surveyor Unlimited (applicants without this must demonstrate ability to become registered).6+ years experience in a similar role is preferred, however we will consider all levels of experience.Degree in Building Surveying.Sound knowledge of current Victorian Building Act, Regulations and Building Code of Australia.Be well informed with Building Surveyors Code of Practice in Tasmania.Able to develop new business.Demonstrated time management and organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines.Strong writing skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels.High level of attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.Computer literate.Current Driver's licence.What We OfferWe're a friendly bunch who are passionate about our work.We're advocates for flexible working practices and WFH options.Relocation assistance offered.Ongoing development opportunities and career progression.A market competitive remuneration package and additional benefits.We welcome and encourage applications from a diverse background including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, mature workers, LGBTI+ people and people from different cultural backgrounds.
