About the team
The Asset Management and Compliance team is a small dynamic team, located within the Community Facilities and Open Space Asset Planning and Management business unit of the Infrastructure Lifecycle Planning and Performance branch. This branch is responsible for asset custodianship and overseeing asset lifecycle management across all customer and community facing infrastructure classes. The portfolio includes 1470 buildings across the Gold Coast, ranging from HOTA, the home of the arts and the City's 9 Aquatic centres through to local community clubs.
About your new role
You will effectively coordinate and undertake ongoing development, implementation and review of asset management plans and associated financial forecasting, asset management improvement activities, maintenance strategies, review and recommendations for asset management improvements. You will coordinate and implement asset management activities and manage infrastructure revaluations.
What you'll be doing:
Coordinate and undertake the development, implementation of the asset management plans, including renewal planning, technical levels of services, infrastructure risk management, operations and maintenance, demand, and budget requirements. Provide input and guidance into the preparation of annual capital works program and related operational budget submissions. Lead and manage a team of asset planners to deliver critical business functions for the community facilities portfolio. Coordinate improvement programs including management of the procurement process where required, liaison with service providers and business stakeholders. Contribute to the development of strategic direction and coordinate implementation at a tactical level. Deliver business level asset management improvements working within the broader organisational strategic landscape. Coordinate asset maintenance planning processes and improvements including the development and updating of maintenance strategies in consultation with relevant stakeholders and service owners. We're looking for people who have:
Bachelor degree in related discipline (e.g. engineering, construction management, architecture, town planning) and 5+ years' experience in building Asset Management environment. Experience in managing teams of technical people. Current Driver Licence C Class Unrestricted. Proven ability to provide strategic advice and recommendations for stakeholder management. Experience with whole of life asset management including: Asset management planning: lifecycle management planning (proactive asset intervention strategies and renewal planning). Capital works planning. Asset maintenance planning. Working knowledge of business and operational planning, including: Financial planning and financial management. Work program planning and management. Contribution to business plans at a strategic, tactical, and operational level. High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare high quality reports and presentations in a clear, concise and timely manner. Ability to prepare correspondence and communications for executive consumption. Self-motivation and demonstrated initiative, creativity, and the ability to foster enthusiasm among fellow staff. Exceptional organisational skills and ability meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Experience in local government or government-related entities is not essential but will be regarded highly. Exceptional skills in the use of Microsoft Office such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and the ability to quickly adapt to enterprise software applications used by the City such as SAP, Pathway, JIRA.
