About the role
The School of Medicine (Fremantle) offers a four-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program that has been fully accredited by the Australian Medical Council of Australia and is highly ranked by graduates in national surveys.
Key features include a focus on small group teaching and problem-based learning, combined with rich clinical experiences across the entire program.
The school also offers several postgraduate health education programs to assist health professionals to develop their capabilities as educators and leaders and a Pre-Medicine Certificate at an undergraduate level.
Key Responsibilities
General Practice Placements:
Facilitating administrative support for financial arrangements and Placement Agreements with General Practices hosting students.
Managing all GP placements for students enrolled in the MD program.
Handling requisitions, purchase orders, and receipting using PeopleSoft.
Clinical Placements:
Overseeing hospital placements during the Clinical Years.
Supporting Foundation Year placements as needed.
Liaising with key stakeholders, including hospital administrative staff and clinicians, regarding hospital placements.
Managing administration of Clinical Mentors, Teachers, and hospital funding.
Processing requisitions, purchase orders, and receipting through PeopleSoft.
Elective Placements:
Manage and administer all aspects of the electives program for penultimate and final year MD students.
Other Duties:
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards, including identifying, assessing, and controlling health and safety risks in the workplace.
Assist with recruiting examiners for clinical exams and OSCEs as needed.
Perform other duties as directed by the National Head of School/School Manager or delegate and comply with all reasonable training and duties as identified by the line manager or delegate.
Adhere to University policies and procedures in all aspects of work and conduct.
Qualifications, skills & experience
Relevant Educational qualifications, in combination with administrative experience.
Successfully managed and coordinated high-responsibility programs.
Known for strong organisational skills, ensuring deadlines are met and goals achieved.
Effective communicator skilled in engaging with students, academic staff, and medical professionals.
Proficient in maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment, with advanced computer literacy in Excel and Word.
