Senior Accountant - 'Make your job count'. Senior Accountant PT (0.5 FTE) - Hybrid up to 20 hours per week
P&Cs Qld is the peak body (NFP) that supports and represents more than 900,000 state school parents and wider school communities across Queensland. Working with our small but wonderfully diverse and dynamic team from our State Office in Wilston, your role is pivotal across all areas and business units of the organisation. As part of the leadership team, you will work closely with the CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
Full end-to-end accounting
Producing month-end and year-end close
Prepare monthly business unit reporting packs
Monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain revenue and revenue received in advance accruals
Payroll
Prepare BAS/IAS returns
Fixed asset accounting maintenance
Assist with budgeting and forecasting
Analyse financial data to report on trends and opportunities for improvement
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation
Support decision-making by providing financial insights and recommendations
Work with internal teams to address financial issues and support business objectives
Your Skills and Experience:
Experience in a similar role and ideally has commenced study towards formal accounting qualifications (CA, CPA)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience managing priorities and working to deadlines
A high level of attention to detail
Ability to communicate to a variety of stakeholders
Significant experience with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to format reports
