Position Overview: On behalf of our Client, we are seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic Senior Accountant to join their highly motivated and talented team in a permanent full-time capacity.
While the Head Office is based in Ballarat, the firm also has offices in Melbourne; however, some days of the week will need to be based in Ballarat, by negotiation.
The Role: The role offers exposure to a wide variety of tasks associated with the various accounting and taxation needs of clients and includes, but is not limited to:
Leading a small team to achieve company-driven goals and directives;Exposure to a variety of industries, including medical, professional services, trade, agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, retail, and property;Assistance with and responsibility for the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for clients including companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals;Assistance with the preparation of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements;Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax returns and Payroll tax returns.The Candidate: To be successful in this role, you will need:
At least 5 years prior experience in Accounting with a strong academic track record;Exceptional communication skills and leadership qualities to motivate and engage a small team;A high focus on providing excellent client service;Excellent time management and attention to detail;A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others;A strong work ethic and initiative;Commitment to further training and professional development.Your Background: 5+ years' experience in an Accounting practice;Degree qualified and working toward, or preparing to work toward, obtaining CPA status;Ability to identify how to maximize returns for clients and understand the deductibility of certain items;Previous exposure to accounting and tax software; strong skills in using MYOB, Xero, and Intuit QuickBooks will be highly regarded.An attractive salary and excellent working conditions are on offer for the successful candidate.
