What you'll do:
As a Senior Accountant, your role will be pivotal in providing accurate, timely, and professional accounting support. You will be tasked with performing comprehensive analysis of legal award letters and contracts, identifying all pertinent financial clauses. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the Grants Module - Contract, Projects and Award modules in the institution's finance system. You will also prepare financial statements and acquittals related to external revenue and capital grant funding. Your role will involve coordinating with internal and external auditors for grant audits.
Perform comprehensive analysis and interpretation of legal award letters and contractsProvide strategic support and advice on grant reporting and research accountingMaintain the Grants Module - Contract, Projects and Award modules in the institution's finance systemPrepare financial statements and acquittals in respect of external revenue and capital grant fundingCoordinate with internal and external auditors for grant auditsAssist in the preparation of the notes to the institution's annual financial statementsWhat you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Senior Accountant position should possess postgraduate qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or a related field along with membership within a professional institution (CPA / CA or equivalent). You should have strong financial accounting, analysis, and reporting skills. Significant experience in grant reporting within complex stakeholder environments is highly favourable. Experience in the preparation of financial reports such as income and expenditure statements is required. Substantial experience in performing accounting reconciliations is also necessary.
