The role involves collaborating with our security team to implement and maintain security measures compliant with Australian Government security standards, including the PSPF and ISM.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect systems and infrastructure, gaining foundational security experience.Support security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and risks, learning risk mitigation skills.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy security solutions, gaining project experience.Learn to monitor security systems and respond to incidents under guidance, developing incident response skills.Contribute to developing security policies and procedures, gaining insight into policy-making and industry standards.Support internal teams on security best practices, learning from mentors and assisting in security implementations.Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see ).A Day in the LifeThe Security Systems Engineer reviews security logs, collaborates on incident analysis, conducts security assessments, participates in meetings, and researches emerging threats and technologies.
