Teacher of Religious Education (Stage 4 to Stage 6)
A full-time, permanent position with negotiable start date commencing Term 4, 2024 or Term 1, 2025.
Current/previous experience teaching Stage 6 Studies of Religion or other HSC subjects will be advantageous.
Teacher Role Requirements At St Luke's, teachers strategically work in teams across a stage to collaboratively plan, prepare, teach, assess and evaluate student learning and are required to:
Support and assist the evangelising mission of Catholic education; See themselves as learners and be committed to ongoing professional learning; Work collaboratively with other teachers to design inquiry learning experiences where students exercise choice to demonstrate knowledge and understanding; Enhance social skills and nurture the growth of enterprise skills including critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration for each student; Use digital technology as an enabler and accelerator for student and teacher learning; Use diagnostic data, summative data and formative data, including observations, annotations and work samples, to inform 'next steps' for students; Demonstrate deep understanding of curriculum and pedagogy and how these underpin inquiry-based interdisciplinary learning; Regularly provide students with feedback as part of the teaching and learning cycle; Be open to growth and development through professional learning experience which includes practice analysis conversations, classroom observations and input from St Luke's coaches; Know and apply NESA and CSPD requirements. Qualifications and Accreditations Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance Eligibility to teach in NSW according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete) Application Requirements This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CSPD's Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.
