Teaching - Secondary (Education & Training) Secondary English Teacher (7-12) - 1.0fte Heritage College Perth is a K-12 College located in the beautiful, tree-lined foothills of Perth in Forrestfield. We are seeking to employ an experienced, inspirational, and enthusiastic Secondary English Teacher. This is a full-time role commencing Term 1, 2025 (salary range $105,000-116,000). The role may include Pastoral Care duties with one of our combined secondary cohorts and therefore would suit someone who is passionate about teenagers and the unique challenges and opportunities which they face at this important stage of their development and learning. There may also be the need to teach in a secondary learning area, but these will be considered to suit the strengths of the successful candidate.
Suitable applicants should ideally be able to demonstrate their:
successful experience in teaching English to Secondary students (Yr7-10), including Yr 11-12 ATAR, General and Foundation English familiarity with the content of the WA English Junior and Senior Curriculum as prescribed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority of Western Australia coordinating English extension and challenge classes for able Primary students passion for inspiring a love of learning in students, in particular, teenagers ability to engage with students to teach a variety of writing styles and literacy genres actively support the Christadelphian ethos and values of the College proven ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team excellent interpersonal and communication skills strong work ethic of dedication and commitment appropriate educational qualifications and demonstrated educational experience at a Secondary School level current registration with the TRBWA or ability to gain registration by 2025 current Working with Children Check and WA Police Clearance or ability to obtain these The successful applicant will be able to clearly demonstrate their competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
