Job Description Key Tasks and Responsibilities As Science & Infrastructure Facilitation Officer, you will have the following responsibilities:
Supporting coordination, planning, development, and implementation of the CMIP data archiving and dissemination; Providing facilitation support and management of relevant CMIP and WIP task teams and joint activities with the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF); Providing communication support to CMIP data infrastructure activities and engaging with relevant communities; Promoting equity and inclusivity in CMIP data access; Organising and facilitating infrastructure-relevant meetings, workshops, conferences, training sessions, and other activities relevant to CMIP; Reaching out to relevant wider communities such as PANGEO, Copernicus, and other emerging communities. Qualifications Skills & Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:
Master's degree in physical or climate sciences or any other appropriate scientific field; At least three years of relevant work experience; Expertise in scientific or data infrastructure project and program management and facilitation; Experience with coding languages including Python, C, or Fortran; Expertise in working in an international environment with globally distributed teams; Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and mediation skills; Proficiency in English; The following would also be desirable: PhD in climate science, particularly climate modeling; Qualification in project or program management; Experience working with climate models and climate data, including familiarity with CMIP; Experience in science communication and outreach.
