What to Expect As a member of the cross-functional Applications Engineering team within the Energy Projects group, you will be critical to Tesla's mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy by helping integrate renewable generation and battery storage into utility power systems. You will assist in the design, implement and testing the controls necessary for large battery storage projects (10 MWh - 1 GWh), both islanded and connected to the bulk electrical power system.
What You'll Do Support SCADA Engineers directly to develop and deploy monitoring and control schemes for complex utility-scale battery projects. Support SCADA Engineering Team with design, integration, deployment, and commissioning process for entire SCADA scope, both on-site and remotely. Support new Tesla Energy software features by writing specifications and test plans, assisting development and test efforts, managing deployment and documenting new capabilities. Develop technical or process documentation required to support project evaluation and deployments. Troubleshoot issues and implement fixes on operational sites. What You'll Bring Currently pursuing or a recent graduate of BS/MS in relevant Engineering discipline or related field of study. Demonstrated application of analysis, design and testing to solve complex engineering problems. Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals – mechanical, electrical, and thermal – is expected. Familiarity with relevant communication protocols and computer interfaces: MODBUS, DNP3, UNIX, JSON, IEC 61850, IEC 60870 protection relay configuration, etc. Familiarity with relevant programming platforms and languages: SEL RTAC, Aveva, Python, Golang, etc. Besides a rock-solid work ethic and a strong team-oriented personality, members of our team display creativity, passion, and a desire to break new ground in a constantly shifting technology landscape. #J-18808-Ljbffr
