Based in Richmond, BC, on the beautiful west coast of Canada, Ideon Technologies uses the energy from supernova explosions to image deep beneath the Earth's surface. A spin-off from TRIUMF (Canada's particle physics lab), Ideon is a world pioneer in cosmic-ray muon tomography. The team developed a subsurface intelligence platform that integrates proprietary detectors, imaging systems, inversion technologies, and artificial intelligence to provide x-ray-like visibility underground. By transforming muon data into reliable 3D density maps, Ideon helps geologists identify, characterize, and monitor mineral deposits with confidence. This reduces risk and cost of traditional methods, while saving time, optimizing return, and minimizing environmental impact across the mining value chain. In turn, this is helping accelerate the world's transition to low-impact mining and transform how companies find the critical minerals required to power the global shift to clean energy.
The Role
We are seeking a Sales Specialist to join our dynamic and growing Business Development team. In this role, you will have an impact on sales and business development (BD) achievements by qualifying prospective target customers and ensuring team processes are efficient and effective.
You will report to the General Manager, Australia & Asia-Pacific (APAC) and work in a team setting with Business Development Executives based in APAC.
You are keen to talk to people, capable of (and energized by) juggling several priorities and driving through to completion, highly organized with a desire to improve and automate processes, and are content working with business development professionals travelling to face-to-face customer meetings while you support from the "home office".

Qualify new potential opportunities and target individuals for Business Development Executives to pursue. Add to and update our customer relationship system (CRM) with prospect and customer information and sales activities that you personally oversee. Develop draft proposals and RFP responses, engaging internal stakeholders as you guide the process to delivery. Develop and/or customize prospect and customer presentation material (i.e. targeted use case decks, proposals). Generate sales reports and dashboards, analyzing metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Work closely with customer experience/marketing to align sales strategies with marketing initiatives and ensure superior customer experiences. Monitor and act on mining industry news (i.e. demand trends regarding commodities, changes in ownership and operational status, funding announcements, etc.). Demonstrate strong initiative by driving process improvements and identifying ways to make the team even more effective. Success in the role looks like:
Being considered a trusted, go-to resource for the Business Development team; your teammates can rely on you to consistently deliver on your commitments, move initiatives forward in their absence, and be integral to the team's and Ideon's success. Priorities in the first few months will include:
Getting a handle of the available marketing content produced by the Customer Experience team; putting it to use, giving feedback for enhancements, and requesting new content as needed.
