Eisai launched their Australian business 10 years ago and since then it has delivered a strong presence in the prescription medicine market and developed an exceptionally talented team of sales, marketing, medical and operational professionals.
More recently, Eisai has expanded into the New Zealand market.
Drawing on the research and development foundations of their Japanese global headquarters and as part of the EMEA team based in the UK, Eisai Australia & New Zealand are searching for an inspiring and dynamic Sales and Marketing Director.
This is an exciting time to lead the local commercial team as they enter a significant growth phase in a new therapy area.
Reporting directly to the VP Neurology EMEA, your key responsibilities include: To understand and live by, communicate, educate and train the company on the hhc Corporate Philosophy To provide leadership, coaching and management of the sales and marketing functions to develop an annual business and operational plan and objectives, including maximisation of patient uptake and growth Adapt, develop and implement Australia & New Zealand sales and marketing strategy and specific brand/indication operational plans in line with the EMEA regional strategy and brand plans Based on the Eisai WAY Matrix organisational structure, to be part of the Country Management Team including collectively developing & delivering the Australian & New Zealand Business Plan and managing the P&L To develop a deep understanding of the external business environment, competitors and emerging trends to influence and drive sales in a highly competitive environment To establish and maintain effective relationships with global alliance partners to develop local operational plans and lead co-promotion activities Working closely with HR, to build the framework needed to support resource planning, performance management, recruitment and retention for sales and marketing teams To be considered for this role, you will have: A strong background in specialist/secondary care experience in Oncology or Neurology will be highly regarded; however, this is not essential Experience in Healthcare Ecosystem Development will be highly regarded Proven track record of commercial success in the Pharmaceutical industry Extensive experience in leading sales teams Experience of leading marketing teams is advantageous but not essential Experience of working in a leadership matrix structure is an advantage Experience in forecasting, managing a budget and responsibility for P&L Extensive experience working with global teams Strong analytical skills, business acumen and communication skills High credibility and impact with ability to communicate at senior level Ability to add value and constructively challenge the status quo Intellectual capacity to assimilate complex information, assess business critical key issues and then develop appropriate strategies and tactical plans with the ability to influence line functions High degree of proactive initiative with a sense of urgency A deep understanding of the Australian pharmaceutical industry.
Experience of the New Zealand pharmaceutical industry would also be advantageous It is important that you enjoy leading a business from the front and working in an agile environment where your entrepreneurial spirit will be encouraged.
