We are currently offering a great opportunity for a Sales Agronomist to join our team. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the focus of your role will be to consult and offer expert product knowledge to horticulture and viticulture clients based in Huonville, TAS.
A typical day may look like: You will work closely with our key clients in the Huonville area to provide agronomic advice and inputs with a focus on horticulture, viticulture agronomy, pasture production, and crop monitoring. You will share information with producers related to environmental and seasonal conditions affecting crop production, perform soil testing, and study other factors affecting production in order to provide sound fertiliser, nutrient, and soil recommendations to improve quality and yield. The crop list grows every year with farmers looking to diversify, so we offer a great opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of pasture systems and horticultural cropping. In addition, you will conduct field demonstrations and trial work for product development in conjunction with key suppliers. You will also work collaboratively with branch staff to drive promotions, merchandising, and sales performance. Engage and work alongside a team within an established business, servicing the needs of cutting-edge farmers who have significant experience partnering with producers. Responsibility for increasing the productivity, profitability, and sustainability of farming enterprises. About You: To be successful you will have established yourself as a trusted advisor in an agronomy role and demonstrate an understanding of the products, seasonal timings, and general requirements of rural producers. You will have a minimum of 2 - 3 years building and ensuring successful partnerships with customers, delivering appropriate agronomic advice and services. Your sound customer service, organisational, administrative, and computing skills will be complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will demonstrate an understanding of the sales process and strong sales activity and call cycle management. Knowledge of horticulture and viticulture agronomy is an advantage.
