Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services are looking for a Safety Ambassador - Mental Health Inpatient Units to join their Princess Alexandra Hospital, Logan Hospital and Redland Hospital team. The purpose of this role is to provide a collaborative, non-clinical response to occupational violence within the Acute Mental Health Inpatient Units across Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services.

About the Role The Ambassador will proactively engage with consumers and visitors and will work collaboratively with the Safety Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) and staff to provide a collaborative, non-clinical response to aggression and violence incidents and emergencies to maintain a safe environment. In maintaining a safe environment, the Ambassador will undertake a mix of ward rounding and/or be allocated, at the direction of the Safety CNC, to provide dedicated support to a clinical area or to an individual consumer.
The Ambassador will be required to engage in respectful, non-judgmental, empathic, supportive, people-focused interactions, which will facilitate respectful and positive relationships with consumers, staff and visitors.
