Safety Advisor - P2N HR Recruitment OH S NSW Other Permanent / Full Time 23/11/2018 Parkes, NSW Permanent Position - 10 4 Roster Iconic Inland Rail Project Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) plays a critical role in the transport supply chain and in the overall economic development of Australia. We manage and operate over 8500 kms of track in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland, making us one of Australia's largest rail network owners. The Inland Rail Programme is a 1710km rail infrastructure project stretching from Brisbane to Melbourne incorporating new and existing rail track. The programme includes the upgrading of existing standard gauge track, the enhancement of existing standard gauge track to cater for double stacking and the construction of new standard gauge links comprising of: viaducts, tunnels, rail track, crossings and bridges. More information relating to the project can be found here: The ARTC Inland Rail Project is currently seeking an experienced Safety Advisor in a permanent capacity to promote the safety culture across the Parkes to Narromine Construction Team. About the Position The role will be responsible for educating, facilitating and promoting ownership of safety culture across the P2N construction team. The position will: Work closely with the appointed contractor to ensure that work place health and safety requirements are met for the Project. Provide structured input and assistance in the implementation of site workplace safety requirements, compliance to rail safety and other procedures and initiatives to ensure safety compliance and continual improvement across the P2N Project. Work with safety resources across ARTCrsquo;s employee and contracted workforce to deliver consistent and coordinated safety services. About You The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate knowledge of systematic investigative and reporting techniques, with an emphasis on industry and human factors, demonstrated experience in a senior safety advisory role in a multidisciplinary environment and knowledge of or an awareness of rail safety legislation. You will also possess thorough knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, standards and codes of practice including injury management, workers compensation and return to work procedures and a demonstrated commitment to safety and clear understanding of general safety systems. The above skills will be accompanied by tertiary qualifications in a recognised WHS and/or closely related discipline.
