BW Offshore is looking for an experienced Rotating Machinery Engineer to join our Asset, Engineering and Maintenance (AEM) team.
The successful candidate will actively contribute and provide technical and advisory support to the Offshore Management Team in regard to rotating machinery systems and relevant regulatory requirements, reporting to the Engineering Manager – Asset Operations.
This position is an onshore position and will be based in Darwin, Northern Territory. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Provide engineering support for the repair, overhaul, and troubleshooting of rotating equipment, including gas compressors, steam and gas turbines, pumps, and gearboxes. Review the Shutdown / Breakdown Reports and verify / carry out Root Cause Analysis. Carry out major planned maintenance on rotating equipment including Recip compressors and gas engines. Monitor the performance of major rotating equipment utilising Bentley Nevada System 1 online capability and take necessary actions to maintain Unit and equipment operability, safety, maintainability and reliability requirements. Lead the design, specification, and technical evaluation of rotating equipment, ensuring adherence to technical, safety standards and OEM requirements. Develop and revise modifications, technical procedures, operational standards, and documentation for rotating machinery. Conduct performance reviews of rotating equipment and propose solutions for reliability optimisation, cost reduction, and overhaul interval extensions. Oversee detailed designs, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, datasheets, calculations, and technical reports related to rotating equipment. Support Technical Maintenance and Operations Support teams, as and when required, including visiting the Unit as needed for technical support and troubleshooting. Monitor on a continuous basis that the unit performs within the relevant performance standards. Qualifications You will hold a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or similar. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) preferred but not essential. 10 years+ experience in oil and gas industry with rotating equipment, technical and operations support. Extensive knowledge and experience with repairs, overhaul, and maintenance of rotating equipment including gas compressors, gas engines, steam turbines, pumps and reciprocating compressors. Previous experience with rotating equipment in offshore/FPSO environment. In-depth knowledge of applicable Australian and International standards and regulatory requirements. Previous experience and training in MAN gas compressors, and Siemens turbines highly desirable.
