Role Overview: As a Risk & Compliance Analyst within our Risk & Compliance team, you will be responsible for supporting the team in ensuring that our business operations and procedures comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, as well as assisting the business on risk-related matters. You will perform a range of duties including assisting in assessing the impacts of regulatory regulations, review of company processes, and managing the development, implementation and monitoring of various processes and policies as they relate to the overarching governance framework. You will be a proactive team member who is an excellent communicator, has a deep interest in understanding the fund management space and a willingness to help the business succeed.
In addition to being a risk and compliance advisor to the business, this role will also be involved in providing consulting to clients to enhance their risk and compliance maturity and implement best practice frameworks.
This role will report to the Associate Director – Risk & Compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Conducting Anti-Money Laundering / Know Your Client (AML/KYC) procedures.
Assisting in the preparation of Operational Due Diligence (ODD) requirements received and requested.
Assisting the Risk & Compliance team in developing risk management frameworks and strategies and ensuring they are operationalised in the business.
Assisting the Risk & Compliance team in reviewing and assessing the effectiveness of company policies and procedures.
Working with internal stakeholders from various parts of the business to ensure risk and compliance actions have been completed.
Assisting in the maintenance of risk and compliance registers.
Advising on the implementation of internal controls within business processes.
Keeping up to date with compliance requirements and amendments to regulations, including attending relevant training and updates.
Advising internal stakeholders on operational and regulatory requirements (including AFSL, AML/CTF and Corporations Act requirements).
Performing assurance testing.
Investigating operational incidents and compliance breaches to determine root cause and preventative actions.
Supporting the Risk & Compliance team in maintaining oversight of Fund and Third-Party risks.
Documentation of meeting minutes for committees.
Who We're Looking For: We're seeking an individual with up to 2 years of experience interested in pursuing a risk and compliance career in financial services. If you're proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, you will excel in this role.
Key Skills & Qualifications: A recently completed Bachelor's Degree in Law or Commerce / Business Administration / Accounting (or equivalent)
Full working rights (working visas accepted)
An interest in financial services (or more specifically, the fund/asset management space)
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
An analytical mindset with excellent organisational skills
Effective research and professional networking skills
A willingness to learn and take on a wide variety of tasks
Occasional interstate travel
