Retail Assistants (Retail & Consumer Products) We currently have a NEW exciting part-time opportunity in our Supported Employment Division for a Retail Assistant (Job Coach).
The role will be based at the Wallara Shop at the Dandenong Square.
You will provide support to people with a disability (Supported Employees) to improve their knowledge and skills in customer service, processing sales, merchandising, stock management, and more! You will be working with individual Supported Employees as well as small groups of up to 3 people, to help them achieve their employment goals.
The role reports to the Retail Manager (Lead) who will provide you with necessary training and support.
Availability is needed Monday – Sunday with the ability to pick up shifts in the late afternoon/evening and weekends.
Exact days and hours are TBD.
What you'll need to succeed 1 - 2 years' experience in retail (hospitality experience also considered) Demonstrated experience/ability to upsell Enjoy and thrive on customer interaction and the thrill of getting a sale/meeting KPIs Be hands-on, energetic & vibrant Ability to set up and create in-store merchandising displays Ability to advocate and provide person-centred support that exceeds standards and is delivered within the available resources – be creative! Experience and knowledge within the disability sector (desirable) An ability to provide support and care with active support skills and the right attitude to participate in disability training on the job A passion for supporting people with disabilities to achieve the best they can – bring your special talents to their experience! Resourceful and innovative approach to creating opportunities for those we support – make social change happen Strong communication skills; ability to prevent and resolve issues and to build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders Strong administration skills and computer literacy in order to complete appropriate documentation A professional approach to work Commitment to the principles of WHS, EEO, Cultural Diversity and all relevant legislation.
