THIS OPPORTUNITY The Director will work closely with the broader reputation team across Australia as well as with colleagues in other Ipsos markets including Europe, North America and the APAC region. As a Director, you will be responsible for:
Strategic partnership with existing client relationships to fully understand their business and proactively managing client relationship to anticipate needs and manage expectations, handle client issues professionally and proficiently, work towards repeat business and capitalize on opportunities to cross-sell other Ipsos divisional work. Assigned financial targets, key accounts and associated budget and profit targets. Actively working on business development with new and existing clients in a way that inspires confidence and builds long term relationships. Consulting with the team regarding the customisation of research methodology for assigned clients. Preparing and writing convincing and compelling proposals, tenders and new business pitches. Proactively planning the execution of a research project to ensure budget and deadlines are met, never over-promising or under-delivering. Delegating key project tasks and oversee organisation and progress to ensure project remains profitable. Including direct reports in the research process by seeking opportunities to coach, develop and mentor their skills, as well as delegating key tasks to meet their capability, ensuring authority with accountability is provided. Proactively building internal relationships with other business divisions, in particular to understand each division to create cross selling opportunities. In consultation with senior leaders, to oversee and conduct research analysis with the Account Manager to prepare insightful and strategic findings that meet the customer needs and expectations. To oversee the preparation of, and fine-tune the preparation of client presentations and deliver high calibre presentations and workshops with the client Day to day training, coaching and mentoring of direct reports on technical skills, consultative research skills and account management skills to build their capability and support their development. Encouraging knowledge sharing within and between teams, proactively contributing to a 'one team' an environment and looking for opportunities to multi-skill, be exposed to other research methodologies and opportunities to work on other projects in other divisions. YOUR PROFILE We're looking for professionals with intellectual curiosity and passion for delivering impactful evidence-based advice. You must have a keen interest in the real-world reputation issues facing businesses today, as well as the wider political and social contexts in which our clients operate. Your competencies and experience will reflect:
Commercial market research experience in account director/account management roles. Proven track record with high value clients and successful new business. Strong coaching experience and previous people management responsibility. Senior level account management, consulting skills and project management skills Senior level communication skills, presentation skills and business writing skills. Business development skills, negotiation skills and sales ability. Senior level interpersonal skills, relationship building skills and conflict management ability. Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and outcome focus. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills and proven research skills People management skills, including ability to coach and mentor others Strong passion for research, self-motivated and enthusiastic approach to teamwork. Proficiency in MS Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and preferably SPSS/Q.
