Offer Description2 X Full time fixed term positions until 30 June 2027 at CamperdownExcellent Research Data Analyst opportunity to work on the OCEAN study, a national study of the clinical activity of nurses, physiotherapists and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Health Practitioners working in Australian general practiceBase Salary $108,557+ 17% superannuationAbout the opportunity The Occasions of Care Explained and ANalysed (OCEAN) tool is an online data collection platform used to collect and analyse clinical activity data from primary health care clinicians. This is a national study of the clinical activity of nurses, physiotherapists and Aboriginal &/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Health Practitioners working in Australian general practice
This innovative research will involve data collection from general practice nurses, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists and Aboriginal &/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Health Practitioners - the first data collected on clinical activity for these professions in primary care in Australia. The resulting dataset will create an important evidence base to assess the contribution of these non-medical professionals to the wider general practice team.
We are seeking two Data Analysts with health research data analysis experience to support data analyses in our primary care health services research. You will support the OCEAN team by providing in-depth analysis of research data and ensuring high standards of data accuracy and reliability in all reports.
Your key responsibilities will be to: provide detailed statistical analysis of research datause advanced analytical techniques and methodsmanage data provision and reporting for key external stakeholders.maintain and ensure high data quality standards for reliability and accuracyfoster open communication and collaboration within the team, addressing stakeholder queries and concerns in a timely manner, while building trust within immediate work networksoversee report compilation to meet established standards, proactively identify compliance improvements, and collaborate with the team to rectify discrepanciesperform advanced statistical analysis, program complex algorithms, and generate reports for research projects, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to best practices in statistical methodologyprovide statistical advice to researchers, link datasets from multiple sources, and prepare derived datasets for analysis.maintain statistical and data management governance protocols to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirementscollaborate with research teams and university portfolios, providing statistical expertise in the interpretation and publication of research resultsengage and build strong relationships with stakeholders, facilitating discussion to address concerns and gather feedback, ensuring alignment with work area goalsAbout you possesses tertiary qualifications or demonstrated relevant, equivalent professional experience in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, psychology or another relevant fieldhas strong knowledge of statistical programming languages of R and SAS. Experience with STATA and/or Python desirablehas demonstrated experience working on research projects involving real-world large health data setspossesses experience in reporting analytical findings to scientific and broader audiences, including documentation, presentations, papers and data visualizationshas a high level of attention to detail and is highly organisedability to work independently or as part of the teamdemonstrates planning, analysis and communication skills together with the ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demandsSponsorship / work rights for Australia Work Rights: you must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
