And, that's something we're truly proud of.Work That Matters, People Who Care.WHAT'S THE JOB?As the Remote Camp Kitchen Assistant, you are responsible for assisting the Chef in the preparation of all daily menu items as needed in the camp, including grab and go lunch items, salads, scratch-made baking items, and more.The position involves a remote work lifestyle in a camp setting with the following amenities:All meals, beverages and accommodations provided free of chargeAccess to Wi-Fi site-wideAccess to laundry facilities and detergentsAccess to a gymUse of lounge area with gaming consoles, pool table, big-screen TV with satellite, sauna, and more!Key Responsibilities include:Meet daily with the Chef to discuss menu preparation and production strategyAssist the Chef in the preparation of all menu items as neededDaily production of grab and go lunch items, including a variety of sandwiches, salads and other itemsAssist in the cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen and serving areasFollow proper storage and rotation of all food suppliesActively participatingin and contributingto a positive safety culture on the project while following allOutland-Horizon North and Wyloo Canada's safe work practices and procedures, wearing and maintaining required PPE and participating in safety meetings and training, as requiredCan be responsible for preparing and serving hot breakfastWHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?You have a Remote Cook Certificate and/or Culinary Diploma with previous remote camp experience (asset)It's an asset if you are Red Seal Certified!You have a Valid Safe Food Handling Certificate (required)Have knowledge of and previous experience with producing a variety of scratch made baking itemsMust have an acceptable Criminal Records CheckYou are a highly responsible, team-oriented person who can prioritize tasks and maintain calm in stressful situationsYou have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (word and excel), Microsoft Teams and email proficiency (Outlook)You have the ability to work efficiently and productively both independently and as part of a teamYou have the ability to handle the following physical demands:Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbsClimb ladders or stairsStand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of timePerform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both handsPerform work with arms at full length and with arms above shoulder heightWHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?FREE meals and FREE accommodations while on site!Travel provided to and from site from designated pick-up locations inThunderBay, ON,Geraldton, ON,Nakina,ON and Webequie First NationWi-Fi across siteAccess to a gym, lounge areaand sauna on siteCompetitive health and dental benefit packageExcellent work-life balance with 2 week on/2 week off rotations in a remote camp life settingEmployee Referral Program – earn up to $2000 for each referral hired!Paid travel timeWork Schedule and Remuneration:Remote Kitchen Assistants work rotational schedules of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off.
