Reliability Engineer

Job descriptionNES Fircroft is partnered with a world leader in mining who is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer for an initial 6-month contract position based on-site in central Queensland.The role will play a critical part in enhancing operational efficiency and asset performance on underground mobile equipment.
In this role, you will take ownership of reliability initiatives, collaborating with key stakeholders to identify issues, develop data-driven solutions, and implement long-term improvements.About the roleMain responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Lead defect elimination initiatives, identifying and resolving issues to enhance operational efficiencyFacilitate and mentor teams in structured problem-solving techniquesAnalyze performance data to uncover reliability challenges and implement data-driven solutionsDevelop and execute long-term reliability strategies, ensuring improvements in asset performanceSupport projects focused on reducing emissions and increasing energy efficiency site-wideDemonstrate strategic thinking, leadership, and negotiation skills to drive impactful solutionsWork autonomously within a cross-functional environmentAbout YouAs the successful candidate, you will possess the following:Tertiary qualification in Mechanical EngineeringPrevious experience with HME mining equipment, either open cut or undergroundProven experience in asset management and reliability engineering, including defect elimination and lifecycle planningStrong ability to think beyond technical solutions and drive commercial outcomesExcellent interpersonal and leadership skillsExperience working in an industrial environmentStrong analytical skills with expertise in structured problem-solving methodologiesWhat's in it for youGenerous daily rateInitial 6-month contract9-day fortnight roster FIFO Brisbane or TownsvilleReach out for more information: With over 90 years of combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Chemicals, Construction & Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining, and Manufacturing sectors worldwide.
