As a result of that demand, an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Release Manager role to join our dynamic team in Adelaide supporting our large Federal Government client base.
You will engage with stakeholders involved in the account Application Release Management and Application Development Life Cycle and provide a DXC point of escalation for any pre deployment issues that might affect Release Managed changes being deployed successfully. Additionally you will provide guidance and insight into upcoming workloads and business imperatives, serving as an early engagement contact for DXC Release Managed BAU deployments and projects.
The key to your success in this role will be your ability to liaise and coordinate Application Management Services resources to ensure smooth integration of Project work into the business as usual stream, working closely with the account team externally and internally to spearhead any recommendations for process improvements.
You will exemplify your leadership abilities, showcase your relationship building and communication skills and possess a technical background as a Release Manager. Ideally, your background would include managing dynamic workloads in a high pressure environment and you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, great client engagement capabilities and demonstrate a proactive approach, flexibility and versatility.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend or dial into internal and or business/client meetings when required to address/action concerns or issues related to release management. (Risk mitigation, process improvement, increase visibility)
Forward Scheduling – Long term view of upcoming deployments (Scheduling/planning/resource/infrastructure issues)
Project Status Reviews/ Kick off meetings – Development, testing, and workload distribution meetings/forums
Provide priority escalation point – Provide timely feedback to DXC management regarding issues affecting the quality of service to the client.
Maintain visibility of project work to be release managed during BAU or after hour’s deployments. Consult and communicate as required to ensure workloads do not conflict.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Identify and implement process improvement/alignment within DXC.
Work with team leads to efficiently coordinate resources to meet release management deliverables where in scope and appropriate
Ensure compliance of all processes and procedures within the release team with internal staff and the respective stakeholders.
Identify & communicate staff training requirements for DXC resources.
Conduct or co-ordinate Post Implementation Reviews were beneficial and appropriate (Internal and or with client)
Consult with the release management BAU team to advise capacity issues as required during high volume periods
Work closely with project managers to ensure consistent visibility of Project workloads and coordinate efficiently.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following key skills /experience:
Previous experience in a similar role
Release management and/or project management experience
Strong attention to detail and process orientation
Understanding success in an ITIL environment
Ability to produce accurate and thorough documentation
Creative approach to obtaining and implementing workplace solutions
Strong client/customer service focus
Due to Federal Government client requirements, applicants must currently be Australian Citizens due to security clearances. Candidates must also demonstrate flexibility and be willing to work outside of business hours including nights and weekends.
