About the team Our Brisbane Dispute Resolution & Litigation (DR&L) team sits within a national practice group that acts for a vast range of clients in areas including commercial disputes and litigation, property, media, technology, mining, energy and resources, judicial review, royal commissions and commissions of inquiry, competition and consumer law, intellectual property, and startups and emerging enterprises. These clients include government departments and agencies, national and international clients, listed companies, SMEs, private companies and individuals.
Within the team we have a number of disputes partners and lawyers who specialise in public and administrative law, competition law, government and regulatory matters.
About the role We are looking to add further to our team with a Brisbane-based lawyer with 2-4 years of post-admission experience in regulatory and public and administrative law matters. The team has experience working on large scale and complex commercial and regulatory disputes in both state and federal jurisdictions. The work on offer is often high profile, intellectually challenging and diverse. No two days are the same and offers a real opportunity to have exposure at a junior level to significant litigation, government advisory and regulatory matters.
About you You will work closely with experienced lawyers in the team on a diverse range of matters including:
Regulatory matters;
Public and Administrative law matters;
Government litigation matters;
Competition and consumer law matters.
Your experience to date will include exposure to disputes in the regulation and administrative and public law space alongside, ideally, experience in competition and consumer law (either front end or back end). You may be currently working in private practice and seeking to join one of the leading teams in this area of law or be working in a legal role in the public sector and keen to transition into private practice.
