POSITION OBJECTIVE
In your role as the Recycling Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Material Recovery Facility.
You will lead a team of recycling and maintenance staff to ensure the successful separation of valuable materials from the kerbside recycling stream.
You will manage the transport and sale of commodity and help drive our community education and deliver our regional waste strategy.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience in managing front line staff.
Experience in waste management and recycling.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
High level of strategic ability to develop and implement plans, budgets and operational protocols.
High level of oral and written communication skills and computer literacy with proven report writing ability.
Current QLD Driver's Licence or ability to acquire a licence prior to commencing in the role.
Must be willing to obtain an Authorised Persons card within probationary period.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for the following areas and includes but is not limited to:
Effectively supervise and mentor staff.
Oversight of all Material Recovery Facility (MRF) operations.
Manage, train and ensure compliance with legislation.
Assess occupational and environmental safety hazards and effectiveness of controls and hazard reduction potential for all areas of the MRF.
Analyse data, develop production schedules, processes and procedures to meet MRF production and quality goals.
Manage MRF operating budget, participate in annual budgeting process.
Continuously monitor operating budget and actuals to identify financial challenges.
Ensure the quality of the output of material from the MRF.
Ensure that preventative and reactive maintenance occurs.
Ensure the delivery of commodity to market.
Work collaboratively with the Waste Coordinator.
Follow directives and obey WHS rules and be responsible for your own safety and the safety of others.
Out-of-ordinary hours work may be required.
Council reserves the right to change these duties at any time.
