Job DescriptionAbout the RoleAs a Recovery Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing practical and emotional support to individuals on their journey of personal recovery.
Working within a person-centered framework, you will collaborate with a team to create an environment conducive to self-determination, choice, and holistic wellbeing.
Your duties will encompass various aspects of support, including facilitating recovery plans, fostering emotional wellbeing, and promoting life skills development.
Key Responsibilities: Supporting Individuals: Facilitate the implementation and maintenance of personalised recovery plans.Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals, fostering emotional wellbeing.Adopt a holistic approach to support, addressing physical health and mental distress.Include family members, carers, and significant individuals in the recovery process as directed.Address critical incidents and crises according to organisational policies and procedures.Recovery Plan Support: Work within a person-centered framework, promoting self-determination and choice.Build rapport with service users to foster trust and collaboration.Assist service users in developing essential life skills to enhance their independence.Service Operations: Ensure timely completion of all necessary documentation.Actively participate in internal meetings, supervision sessions, and training activities.Contribute to the development of policies, best practices, and quality improvement initiatives.Maintain facilities and property in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.We have multiple part-time positions across the Perth Metro area.
Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout YouTo be considered for this role, you will possess:
Certificate IV TAFE (or equivalent) in a human services-related field or relevant demonstrated experience.A current WA's Drivers LicenseA Satisfactory National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months)A valid First Aid Certificate and CPRA Working with Children's CheckSome services also require a NDIS Screening CheckSkills and Experience: Understanding of contemporary mental health frameworks.Previous experience in a human service-related field, preferably in mental health support.Ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders and develop written materials.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and organisational skills.Demonstrated ability to plan, organise, and manage tasks effectively.Experience in a residential setting with individuals experiencing mental distress.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.Lived experience of mental health recovery or as a family member of someone in recovery.Awareness of relevant government departments and community-based support agencies.Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards such as LARU and MH Act.Positive attitude towards individuals experiencing mental distress.Commitment to upholding organizational values and principles.Proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting recovery.About UsRichmond Wellbeing is a leading WA mental health organisation, providing inclusive, community-based residential and outreach services for adults and young people.
