What you'll be doing: Experimentation and Analysis: Conduct hands-on experiments to develop and test surface coatings, utilising a combination of scientific methodology and creative problem-solving. Analyse experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions that drive product development and innovation. Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols for personal and equipment safety in a laboratory environment. Maintain a safe and compliant workspace at all times, ensuring the well-being of yourself and your colleagues. Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks effectively to ensure timely delivery of project milestones. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align project objectives and achieve desired outcomes. Formulation Development: Utilise your proficiency in calculation and formulation to develop and optimize coating formulations. Consider factors such as cost, durability, and environmental impact, striving to achieve formulations that meet both technical and commercial requirements. Quality Control: Perform quality control testing on developed products, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. Utilise laboratory equipment calibration procedures to maintain accuracy and consistency in testing processes. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organisation, including product managers, manufacturing teams, and external partners. Communicate findings and recommendations effectively, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements, proactively seeking opportunities to improve existing processes and methodologies. Participate in ongoing training and development initiatives to enhance your skills and expertise. What We're Looking For: Previous experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related discipline. Proficient in calculation and formulation. Detail-oriented with a sharp eye for identifying nuances in formulations, raw materials, and product quality. Ability to discern colours accurately. Familiarity with laboratory equipment calibration, quality control testing procedures, and complaint investigation protocols. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
