About the role: This role provides the successful candidate a unique opportunity to work in a multifaceted role to assist with the management of the day-to-day operations of the sorting facility and to support Macadamia Farm Management with all aspects of Macadamia Quality Assurance, some of which is in place and some that requires implementation.
Quality Assurance: Assist with the development, implementation, and review of macadamia quality processes, procedures, and standards. Conduct food safety and quality audits in line with food certification requirements. Assist with the implementation and monitoring of product quality measurements and KPIs. Assist with the development and implementation of training programs to support quality processes, systems, and procedures. Review and assist with the auditing of Freshcare compliance. Assist with the development and implementation of Global Gap and Haccap compliance. Sorting and Drying: Supervise the moisture testing process of macadamia nuts, accurately recording information and providing details of recordings to key parties. Supervise receiving, sorting, and dispatching of Macadamia Nuts for processing and distribution. Liaise with growers to book incoming loads regarding the variety, tonnage, and any other specific requirements for drying, sorting, and sampling of macadamia nuts. Manage the sorting machines and sorters to optimize sorting of macadamia nuts to meet tonne per hour targets. Undertake the arrangement of macadamia nut samples. Ensure the "crack out" of waste is completed at the end of the season. Assist in the planning and management of Bundy Sort in conjunction with the Operations Manager, ensuring continual improvements to sorting strategies and efficiencies. About the person: This role requires a proactive individual who can lead and maximize productivity from employees, possesses a growth mindset, is adaptable to change, and is willing to work with the business to continually improve.
Key Selection Criteria: Working knowledge and understanding of food safety compliance systems, processes, and auditing requirements. Demonstrated experience undertaking Quality Assurance audits in line with regulatory compliance. Previous experience managing high-volume sorting, production, and/or processing facilities, specifically macadamia. Working knowledge of drying, sorting, and sampling processes, specifically macadamia. Previous experience working across all aspects of logistics and supply chain management. Experience coordinating and communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders and customers. Experience coordinating and managing employees and contractors. Experience working with technology, software, and computers. Ability to fault find and problem-solve technical and mechanical problems. Experience leading and managing small to medium teams of people. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. How to Apply: To apply for this exciting opportunity please:
