We are looking for a doctor who will take over from a recently retired GP to join the next generation of GPs at the centre. We enjoy a reputation of high standards of care and known as the "go to" clinic in the area. As we work and treat people from all walks of life, it is vital that the doctor have excellent interpersonal skills, a good command of English and the ability to smile and laugh...often!
You will be joining Advocate Medical Group, a boutique group of 4 professionally run, doctor-owned general practices. Opportunities exist for clinical leadership roles within Joseph Banks Medical Centre and throughout our organisation.
This is a non-DWS/DPA position and all candidates must have unrestricted, VR/FRACGP qualifications.

Joseph Banks Medical Centre (JBMC) was established in 1979 at the dawn of the development of the suburb of Endeavour Hills. As the longest running and largest practice in the area, JBMC has been the local “go to” medical centre for 40 years and generations of families. We are a traditional General Practice with doctors who have special skills in minor procedures, musculoskeletal health, addiction medicine and obstetric care.
Joseph Banks Medical Centre is part of the Advocate Medical Group (AMG), a boutique group of quality general practices. We believe the future of general practice is focussed on data-driven clinical outcomes and we aim to be on the forefront of changes and trends in general practice. Our small, responsive professional management team understands that doctors are our customers and we are mindful of our need to support your endeavours.
We have the resources and knowhow to guide you in developing the kind of practice you wish to run. Appreciating that general practitioners cannot depend on Medicare to sustain general practice, we have the resources to assist in helping you branch out into special interests.
Location
Joseph Banks is located in the south east of Melbourne within easy access to Monash Freeway. Typical driving times from the CBD is 35 minutes and Glen Waverley, 12 minutes. It is conveniently located outside of the suburb’s main business and retail area, meaning there is ample free on-site and off-site parking throughout the day.

The Work Environment
The medical centre is purpose built with spacious consulting rooms. We have visiting psychologists and a pathology collection centre on site. Across the street, physiotherapy and radiology services are available.
Our patients
With JBMC being part of the local community since 1979, we have generations of families attending the medical centre. We also have new families that are continually moving into the area and choosing JBMC as their practice of choice. With generational turnover, our patients have a broad age range allowing our doctors to focus on children’s health, family planning, pregnancy management and chronic disease management.
Being well known in the community, JBMC doctors offer general medical support to the psychiatrists at the St John of God Hospital on Heatherton Rd, Dandenong. This has been an optional source of income for doctors. Many of our doctors provide nursing home consultations.
Culture
JBMC is a private billing medical centre. As a service to our local community we provide bulk billing to patients that have current pension cards, health care cards and their dependents. As an independent doctor, you are welcome to charge your patients as you see fit. We have doctors with gross billings between $300-600K and we offer 65% of your gross billings.
We have on-site pathology collection and a visiting psychologist and podiatrist.
