This is an exciting opportunity for a criminal prosecution lawyer to join our Central Region team at the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator. In this busy and varied role, you will manage, prepare and conduct complex prosecutions on behalf of the Regulator.
Working with a family-friendly team, we offer a supportive hybrid work environment with flexible work from home arrangements. We celebrate additional leave over Christmas and flex time arrangements.
This is a permanent position, and we welcome applications for candidates located in Wagga Wagga, Albury, Canberra or Queanbeyan.
About You As the ideal candidate you will have proven experience in the field of criminal prosecution or in another legal environment including all facets of trial preparations, working with court procedures, summary procedures and relevant legislation.
With the ability to undertake extensive and complex case management you will thrive with the challenge and working to deadlines.
With high level interpersonal and communication skills you will have the ability to deliver a high standard of customer service for internal and external clients. You will have over three years' experience as a legal practitioner.
About Us The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as the national entity responsible for regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. The NHVR minimises the compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistences across state and territory borders, and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.
We are headquartered in Brisbane and employ more than 750 people across the ACT, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria.
