An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within RWE Renewables (RWER) to facilitate and expand our onshore renewables development portfolio in the UK.About the roleThis is a key role in driving the onshore wind and BESS growth strategy for RWER in the UK. Forming part of the RWER Onshore Property and Origination team in the UK & Ireland where we have a growing pipeline of projects under development, this role will require the skills, experience and confidence to form new strategic relationships with landowners, third parties and other key stakeholders.The Property Manager (Grid) will work closely with the RWER Development Project Managers and Origination Managers in negotiating and securing the necessary legal agreements for a variety of property related project transactions throughout the project development life, with key focus on grid routes.The successful candidate will need to drive and take responsibility and ownership of a series of highly important and complex grid activities and transactions. This role will require travel and overnight stays throughout the UK.ResponsibilitiesLegal Agreements: Leading discussions and approaches with internal and external property and legal teams to ensure all necessary land rights are acquired for projects in origination and within the existing development portfolio.Development Portfolio Management Activities: Supporting the Origination Managers in identifying new target projects for the RWER pipeline.Commercial Negotiations: Lead the commercial negotiations with landowners / land agents / consultants to secure grid routes / development requirements and wider land rights for RWER projects in the UK.Managing Internal Relations: Building internal relationships across RWER. Working with existing internal and external teams to deliver property requirements on RWER projects (wind, BESS; and grid).Network Building: Building on and increasing our network of land agents, landowners, etc across the UK to ensure the growth of RWER's pipeline meets targets year on year.Requirements and experienceQualification - Degree level in a relevant discipline and a member of (or working towards membership of) the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and/or Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV).Development - Knowledge of the renewables development process within the UK.Grid - Knowledge of grid consenting planning and policy within the UK.Strong Commercial Acumen - Skills and knowledge to lead on negotiations and contractual arrangements relating to onshore renewables development and grid routes.H&S Qualification - Awareness and commitment to a safe working environment.Resilience - Can motivate self and wider team in challenging circumstances for long periods of time.Stakeholder Management - Ideally possess an existing network of relevant contacts and confident when engaging with these.Legal System - Good knowledge of property law.Land Use - Knowledge of land use systems/issues (Agricultural, Forestry and Commercial).Renewable Market - Demonstrable working knowledge of renewable market dynamics, current trends in land transaction activity and the wider competitive environment.Local Knowledge - Excellent knowledge of geography, politics, customs and current issues.Driving Licence.BenefitsFinancial benefits: Competitive salary.Flexible working: Options including flexible working hours and mobile working.Personal development: Access to a variety of training and further education opportunities.Family medical cover.Apply with just a few clicks: ad code 88600, application period: 08/12/2024.Any questions?
