About the role:

The Project Officer delivers a range of business support services associated with keeping the office running smoothly.
The Project Officer is part of a small, agile team supporting key policy coordination and business functions across the Office of the Deputy Secretary, Community and Public Health.
The role reports to the Manager and Principal Adviser working closely with other members of the Office of the Deputy Secretary and across the Division.

How you'll make a difference:

Operate effectively in a complex and dynamic team environment.
Liaise with a range of stakeholders, demonstrating a high degree of professionalism and acting in accordance with public sector values and behaviours.
Manage correspondence and leverage strong continuous improvement skills to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Division.
Provide support to the Office of the Deputy Secretary across various business functions, including briefings, correspondence, task coordination, and projects, to assist senior leadership and stakeholders in the day-to-day operations of the Division.
Contribute to key divisional projects.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to build mutually beneficial partnerships and contribute to the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for the Division.
Assist with the development and implementation of new and improved processes to drive improvements across the Division.
Maintain accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security, and privacy policies.
Consult, liaise with, and influence key stakeholders; develop detailed project plans with clearly defined objectives and action steps; monitor performance against objectives, manage project risks and issues, and ensure project objectives are met.
Coordinate products for Cabinet, Ministerial, senior departmental executive and executive sector stakeholders.

Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:

Relevant business administration or tertiary qualifications desirable.
Demonstrated experience in providing support and advice to government executives. Experience in Microsoft office suite applications such as Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint is desirable.
