Details: The Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs (OATSIA) is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic project officer to assist in the development and provision of strategic policy, governance, and advice to the Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs on matters of importance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the ACT.
OATSIA provides oversight and coordination of the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Agreement 2019-2028 across the ACT Government and provides strategic advice for the ACT on the COAG Closing the Gap Refresh.The Project Officer will provide high level project and policy support to the Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs and may also need to provide support across multiple teams within OATSIA if required.Under general/limited direction this position will undertake administrative and organisational activities and support the team's project and policy work.Community Services Directorate (CSD) is an inclusive employer where all people are respected and valued for their contribution.
We strongly encourage and welcome applications from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, People with Disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, mature age workers and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) people.Eligibility/Other requirements: Under general/limited direction the Project Officer will undertake administrative and organisational activities and support the team's project and policy work.This will include undertaking the following tasks:Provide administrative support to the team, including secretariat support for key meetings and committees, contract management support, and monitoring and governance support for relevant internal and external committees and/or boards.Collate and adapt existing material to respond to reactive requests, including preparing correspondence and other written material, as required.Liaise with various stakeholders to establish and maintain working relationships, including with people across OATSIA, ACT Government, and external organisations.In consultation with section managers, undertake research and analysis and contribute to other policy or project work, as required.Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification that contribute to the Directorate.Notes: A merit pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next12 months.
